Why we are here:
Our Vision:
We decided to start Healing Through Change, Inc. out of a great need for working with the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous People of Color) population who may or may not have gotten any assistance after being sexually assaulted at some point in their lives. Why we exist is simple:
*According to Department of Justice statistics, Black girls and women 12 years and older experienced higher rates of rape and sexual assault than white, Asian, and Latina girls and women from 2005-2010.
* Not only do members of the Black community experience higher rates of sexual violence, but they often feel they have few options for seeking justice and help due to several widespread institutional and historical factors.
* Out of ever 1,000 sexual assaults, 310 are reported to the police.

Our mission
A community is greatly impacted by an organization like Healing Through Change, Inc., being present there. Due to the shame, stigma, and taboo surrounding the experience, sexual violence is still largely concealed in our communities. Healing Through Change, Inc. works to raise public awareness of the problem and acts as a signpost for survivors to find support and safety.

Our team is made up of licensed therapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals who are passionate about supporting mental health and wellness in our community.

We offer one and multi-session programs designed to increase knowledge and comprehension of sexual harassment, dating, and health relationships. We also provide individual workshops for your workplace, community agencies, and more.

- To lessen the impact of trauma on survivors, Healing Through Change, Inc. offers supportive services. Our services are designed to help you at any stage of your healing and are offered without charge to your and adult survivors off sexual assault.
- Our staff fosters a welcoming, helpful, and private environment where survivors can get support. No matter their origin, gender, color, ethnicity, ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We at Healing Through Change believe that every victim has a right to services. No matter how much time has gone since the assault, you are still qualified for assistance.
- We know that moving forward is hard for everyone, but we have learned that when our spouse/partners are not aware of what is going on or what has happened then it can cause an issue within the relationship. We want to help both the victim and spouse/partner to navigate the future.
